mystory

with palms turned
ever so slightly, the wind
tickles the reeds of green
envious of relatives
that garnished a queen
(herstory, the Nile)
or hailed a king
(history, Jerusalem)
today's members
clap a modern song
the palms on my street
stutter as I walk by

  1. Chen-ou and Brian, thank you for your continued comments on my poems. I had a very dry spell (haha, Brian) last week. I was struck dumb in my fingers and could not write.

I have read some incredible stuff, however. Have you read Gary Snyder's "The Bath"? So beautiful and sensual.

My baby has turned into a young woman today--18 years old. I think it is a turning point for me: all of my children are adults! I'd better become one!

    Happy spring, friends,
    Kay

  2. Kay, congratulations!! All of your children are adults, which means they can take care of themselves, and that you can spend more time writing poetry.

Glad to read mystory on Palm Sunday. A religio-historically conscious poem entwined with a personal story of reflection.

  3. I haven't read Gary Snyder's "The Bath." I'm going to check it out. Thanks for sharing.

  4. Hi Chen-ou,

I'm glad you liked it. I'm not sure it's all done yet. One of these days I am going to go back to the drawing board on my stuff. Much editing needed...

In the meantime, I'll fallow out a little longer. LOL. Do you know how appropriate Brian's poem is?? Fallow time is during the growing season, and it's poetry month, and I'm not writing too much! Ah well, any day can be a poetic day.

I'm babbling again. Time to sign off.
    Always,
    Kay

  5. Oh, I am dry as bleached bone these days, Kay. I have only enough poetry for Kirigirisu until the beginning of summer. I've no say where the muse is concerned.

This is a very interesting piece indeed.
