hamartia

here I am in my old skin
watching the trees
try to catch wind
in branches not yet dressed

hear me hear you?
I strip down to a bare soul
try to catch the spirit
with a holey heart

  1. The word play and evocative imagery make the poem poignantly reflective.

And the allusive title adds emotional weight to the poem.

A well-crafted poem for me to ponder.

  2. Beautiful language in its attempt to capture (or simply touch!) what will remains always elusive and just beyond reach. The words are probably as close as we get. Maybe they are the thing itself.

  3. "or simply touch!" -- I like that. Thanks, Brian.
