In the Vicinity of Nativity

loose strands of hay
alight on heads
soon taxed by Caesar Augustus

  1. Well, somebody's gotta pay for it. ; )

They think Caesar is bad, wait til they come to the attention of Herod...

This form really does work for the short poem, Kay. Perfect pitch and finish, like a fine wine.

  2. Thanks, Brian. I'm having fun with it. Cinquains aren't behaving lately! :)

Here's something you all may be interested in. "The Collaborative Photo-Haiku Project" is archived by Tiff Holmes. I found it on Twitter. It'll be fun to play sometimes... I'm in this one.

  3. Render unto Caesar the things which are Caesar's, and unto God the things that are God's.

Kay, L3 gives me a chuckle.

  4. Chen-ou, I'm glad to make you smile. :)
