star dancing

midnight comes and opens
a door
enter upon a dare; dance
tiptoe on points of light

sit within the angle
swing feet
splash the dusty surface
into a rainbow's ending

in dreams, weariness
topples
tip and slide the precipice
bounce off the moon

the door of dawn
bidding
gravity; reality; weariness
toppling the dream

  1. And things were going so well..."Waking-up is hard to do", saith Neil Sedaka.

Good stuff here, Kay. Real control over imagery & tone.

"To sleep, perchance to dream..." (Also Sedaka, I think.)

  2. Hysterical, Brian. Hamlet Sedaka... spot on!

  3. Kay, your use of alliteration (especially in S2) is effective.

    I like it very much.
