reaching for the blessing

Psalm  103 or 130?

the Pit surrounds
my arm
tighter and tighter
only my hand
above ground

  1. Yikes! What imagery. Something better reach back -- and soon! Excellent poem.

  2. Emotionally poignant poem!

I called on your name, O LORD, from the depths of the pit. Lamentations 3:55

    Psalm 103 & 130

Who redeems your life from the pit, Who crowns you with loving kindness and compassion. 103:4

Out of the depths I have cried to You, O LORD. 130:1 (the depths (Sheol) is a metaphor of deep anguish as described in your poem)
