Dreamcatcher

I want...
cornrows to line
my ears with stories long
buried fish bones and roots grown in
dreamland

cobbled
kernels of truth,
crop circles to carry
Indian summer beads of Earth's
alleys

a voice
husky tones, grit
amazing unabashed
zeal for life and death in seasons
foretold

to stalk
hominy's meal
earth's dark history sipped
pot liquor of standing rain and
stillness

  2. Strong imagery infused with emotion.

Kay, you're really good at writing cinquains. Your use of "..." creates an emotive effect.

Another karmic link between us today. I just posted a poem about chasing my dream. LOL!

  3. WOW. This is superb. You have drawn a robust, lushly self-articulated character without over-stepping what you can have experienced by observation. A fine line walked from beginning to end -- successfully, I think.

  4. So many fun links today, Chen-ou! I was reading some poetry by Jeffrey Beam--a poet mentioned by you, Brian, and don't you know there was something about corn rows! LOL!

You both continue to be so encouraging to me, and I appreciate it so much.

    Always,
    Kay
