On, Dancer!

Veiled in the mist, a woman
Gathering milkmaids to drink
The moon’s water

Solemn lake’s distribution
Seven swans molting, their wake
Morning's dew

Nesting geese lay golden eggs
Signets intertwine with rue
Diadems march

Birds and slaves, comrades-in-arms
Trothed to reveal a tyrant
Pyrus blooms

Truelove’s lair, unsuspecting
Nine ladies dancing gaily
Flames in the pit

  1. Somebody's really got it in for this guy but he's going down happy, that's clear.

  2. It was a lot of fun to write a story through a series of poems. I love childrens' stories: fairy tales, nursery rhymes, bedtime lore, etc... Claire mentioned Goldilocks on your blog, and I thought, OH, another story to tell...

But, hmmm, hmmm, hmmm, a blustery day may be in the forecast.

I'm so appreciative of your comments, Brian. :)
