Preparing the Bed

The air weights,
cooling
the downing sun.

The garden imbeds
nails. Slivers,
white receives the black;
aged ridges share the grit;
pressing deep,
dimming
a cathedral of diamond's ring.

Knobby knuckles
need
this earthy place of rest.
